REFORM PARTY'S ATTITUDE.

PALMERSTON N., May 20 :
A meeting of Representatives of the Reform Party was held at Marton last evening when the question ol fusion between the United and the Reform parties was fiillv discussed. The following resolution was unanicarried:—That 'this meeting of members of the Reform Party, representing the electorates of Wanganuft„ ißangitikeJ, Oroua. Palmerston North and Mnnawatu, having carefully considered the proposals of the United Government to form a National Party are of the opinion that the offer should have been eve of a general election; that the reply to Mr Coates was a dignified one and fully sets out the position, particularly in offering assistance to the Governmen, meets with approval of this meeting, which considers any proposal for fusion should be considered after the next election, if either party is unable to form a Government.
