Coroner Page closed the inquest on the victims of the "Progress” disasters to-dav and intimated that he would give his verdict soon alter the conclusion of the Marine Inquiry. Evidence was given at the inquiry to-day. similar to that of other mem- j hers of the crew. by Able Seaman j .Morgan. j Witness said that while the tug was in the vicinity of the Progress. she j appeared to he trying to go head on j to the seas, anil drift down to the I Progress stern first. Witness said he j had lutd a lifetime experience of throwing lines, and in much worse seas than that of the night the Progress broke down. He thought the tug could lmvo have cotue closer and thrown a line. She was never close enough to throw a line.
