The success of New Zealand bowlers at Lord s this morning was only a shadow of what followed. M.C.C. first ihnings ejSosed for 132. Lowry enforced the follow on and Merritt and Blunt dismissed the side which with two exceptions is probably the best amateur eleven in England, for 48, and New Zealand gained a sensational victory by an innings and one hundred and twenty-two -runs, in only 9 hours piny.
The wicket enabled the bowlers to turn the ball. The principal reason for success wais the accuracy of the attack and also brilliant fielding. M.C.C, first innings was notable for Jardine’fl solid batting and Cromb’s fme bowling. The second innings lasted 65 minutes, Merritt has ■ seldom howled better, and he completely baffled the batsmen. Blunt'S success was nl»o fully deserved,,
Chapman Went out first bail in both innings, New Z ea land's success has aroused considerable interest among the critics who believe that the Dominion’s, attack is stronger than was previously considered.
