LONDON, May 15
Sir Thomas Lipton has, at long lost "been elected a member of the Loyal Yacht Squadron. For years it has been a wonder in the yachting world why lie had not been elected when b.'jhad spent half a million on the spr it, ; ml is easily the most famous yacht owner living. Moreover, he is a member of sixteen other Yacht Clubs. Sir Thomas Lipton was eighty-one years eld last Sunday, and apparently the years have obliterated the memory of the fact that he began life as a grocer, and so he has been elected to this club, which has the reputation of being the most exclusive in the world.
