DISCUSSION ON PRIMATE’S SPEECH.

Church reunion was discussed at the meeting of the Auckland Presbytery yesterday, when the following resolution was passed:— . ‘•The AucKland Presbytery cordially welcomes the frank aqd brotherly statement made by Archbishop Averill on- the subject of GrrLstian. reunjqn and trusts that the General Assembly will take full advantage of the opportunity offered for a conference . with the Angican and other, churches,in the vital and urgent matter of Christian reunion.” X. . .
‘‘The terms of the resolution echo very feebly the feelings aroused by the noble and notable speech of the Primate on the: subject;said the Rev. W. Lawson Marsh.;.,.'“lt is without question the Xrnbst ' notable V contribution, made in New Zealand. If any. gathering of representatives oF'noil-Anglican Church had attempted to outline a basis for negotfiitidns they could not have stated .the case for union. more earnestly, nor havemade a more probable basis for it.” •
