RADIO PROGRAMME

(Supplied by the Radio Broadcasting Company of N.Z. Ltd.) WEDNESDAY, MAY 13th. A programme entitled “Dreams of .Long Ago,” will be given by the IYA Broadcasting Choir and the Orchestral Octet at IYA this evening. This will take the form of an old-time concert, introducing many of the songs which were popular in by-gone days. 2YA’s programme will introduce the second series of recordings selected from overseas radio entertainments. At 1) p.m., Mr E. J. Howard will continue his talks on South Africa, this time dealing with the mysterious ruins. Miss Addie Campbell (soprano), Miss Nancy Bowden (contralto) and Mr J. Graham Young (Ibaritone) will be the singers at 3YA. AH are popular artists. Mr George Titchener will contribute humour in song and story. The instrumental programme will be provided by the Studio Octet under Mr Harold Beck. ,

4YA will be presenting a “Brahms Recital’’ arranged by Mr Chas. A. Martin, Mu s . Bach., L.A.B. Assisting vocalists will he Miss Evelyn Shepard (soprano) and Mr William Ruff ell (baritone). In the second half of the programme items will be provided by Miss Irene Horuiblow (contralto) and a trio consisting of Miss Ethel Wallace, Miss Baker and Mrs Moffatt.

THURSDAY, MAY 14th. This evening a concert by the Bohemian ()rche s tra, under the conduetoiship of Mr Colin Mustin, will be ■relayed from the Auckland Town Hall by IYA. i A studio concert by the Wellington \rtiliery Band under Captain T. Herd will he broadcast by 2YA. A very fine a nd varied programme has been arranged. Specially featured will be the Indian intermezzo “Aisha,” a humoresque, “Who’s dat a’ Callin’ and a selection from “Rigoletto.” ■ lie vocal portion will be given over to the Philomel Choir, a combination of the highest standard. Also on this programme will be Mr Ken. Rigby, a popular baritone. Selected electrical recording will be introduced to complete the programme. For an operatic-classical type of programme from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at 3YA, the contributing artists will lie Mrs Sen. Jowott (mezzo-contralto), Mr K. M. Fountain (baritone), Miss L. Merle Miller (pianiste), Air W. Hay (flautist) and Miss Irene Morris violinist).. For the dance programme
