WOMEN WORKERS
IN RUSSIAN INDUSTRY. (United Press Association—By Electro. Telegraph Copyright.) RIGA, Alay 12. At a meeting of the .Soviet State Planning Commission’s resolutions were adopted instructing the responsible authorities to carry out immediately the Commission’s plan for drafting one million sjx hundred thousand women into industrial undertakings. The speakers , emphasised that women made especially, desirable labourers, as drunkenness was unknown among them, they obeyed orders without question, and they were more cheerful workers than the men. There were a large number of women miners in the Donuetz and Kuznetz districts, where their production equalled, and.often exceeded that of the men miners.
