CHARLIE CHAPLIN
PATRIOTISM AND INSANITY. (United Press Association—Bv Electrii 'lelegrupn.—Copyright.) (Received this day at a a.m.) LONDON, May 11. Charlie Chaplin in an interview in the “Daily Express,’’ says patriotism is the greatest form of insanity wherefrom the world ever suffered. People say 1 have a duty to England, but seventeen years ago I slaved and starved there for a few shillings a week. I have been all over Europe in recent months and patriotism is rampant everywhere. As a result there is going to be another war. 1 hope they send old men to the front next time. The old men are the real criminals of Europe to-day. Europe has misunderstood and bullied me. J am moderately rich and don’t care a hang il I ever make another film.
