COMBINED RACE MEETING

AT GREYMOUTH. Yesterday afternoon, Messrs MeGiegor, Houston. Newman and Evans representing the Westland Racing . Club met the members of the committee of tiie Grey mouth Joelcvy Club, to discuss a proposal to hold a bumper race meeting at Greymouth. Mr T. E. (Mates occupied the Cimi r and in expressing sympathy with the Westland Chili in its serious loss, offered al] possible assistance with regard to a substitute meeting. Mr Evans said that following the o! stacles to racing a,t Riccni ton, advice was received from the New Zealand Racing (onfennicv! that if the Club cared to race at Greymouth, an extra day’s totalisator permit would he given, and a combined meeting could be held with the Gi’cvmouth Club. The proposal was discussed round tlie table, and was accepted eventually. D was decided to hold the race meeting at Omoto on Wednesday June 3 (King's Birthday) and Saturday June 6. The programme will b e modelled on that of the abandoned meeting of the Westland Club which was fixed for Easter, As soon as the programme is approved, it will b e advertised. The programme will include two trotting events each day. The meeting will be conducted by the officials of thy Westland Club with the assistance of Mr .Fogarty, Secretary of the Greymouth Club. It was decided to mu the meeting ag economically ns possible and to that end no complimentary tickets nt all will lie Issue!. " The prices of admission will be, ladies 2s 6<l; gents 5s (id (including amusement tax). Various other matters were arranged and the meeting closed with a votw of thanks to the Greymouth Club.
