(tty Telegraph.—Per Press Association) HASTINGS, May 7. Jim Eroadfcot (Auckland) last night knocked out Cyril Thompson (Hastings) in the ninth round of a scheduled fifteen rounds contest for the lightI envy weight title, relinquished by Artie Hay.
Thompson Imd Broadfoot very shaky in the seventh and eighth rounds, hut could not land a telling blow. Broadfoot came out much refreshed in the ninth, to connect with a right chop to the jaw. Thompson taking the count.
