MUM SHOW
IN THE EVENING. There was a large attendance at the Mum Show in the Soldiers’ Hall yesterday afternoon and again in the evening, the door receipts being easily a record one. The splendid array of cut blooms was the subject of special attention throughout, the display being a very fine one. The afternoon tea stall was well patronised and thylollie stall was quickly sold out. The cookery classes were excellent and the competition keen in all classes. TliShow was generally commended, a number of visitors from Greymouth being included in the pleased attendance. The receipts were very satisfactory bu' the total was hardly up-to the amoui., of last year which was a record. The Silver Cup for most points i* the Vegetable Classes was secured 1. Mr A. Groufsky. Last evening during the proceeding the presentation of trophies was mat' to the winners by the Rev. H, .1 Knights, who complimented them o ■ the excellence of their exhibits ar ’ generally returned thanks to all wl had assisted in the very fine display.
