EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND
WAIR ARAPA’S EFFORT. [by Telegraph, Per I*reus Association. MAfSTERTOX, April 30. Donations to the Earthquake Relief Fund in Master ton totals £3,327. Though the disbursements include £10!) sent in cash to the Mayor of Hastings, and £l2l gpont on foodstuffs and goods sent to the stricken area in the early days of the disaster, they total only £263. Generous donations in kind were made by tradespeople and the public of town and country districts lor the local relief of refugees, of whom 290 were on the ration strength of the local food depot. Approximately 000 refugees were temporarily resident in Masterton. The credit balance of £3,064 has been paid into the Prime Minster’s fund.
