TRAMWAY MEN
PROSPECT OF A CRISIS. (By Telegraph—Per Press A ssociation) CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. A crisis appears inevitable in the Christchurch Tramways service. As decided by the Board last week, the men were- all dismissed yesterday, and offered re-employment on new conditions including rod-need pay. This offer, most of the men are said to be refusing, handing the re-employ-ment tornis issued by the Board to the 1 nion. The Tramway Unions in other centres have offered to stand by the local men in a fight.
