WEST COAST RUGBY UNION.
The weekiy meeting was held at Greymouth last evening. Present. Messrs J. Guy (chair), K. Eggelton, S. Hayden, T. Mclntosh, W. Bicheuo, H. Steel, A. White,- W. Pring, W. Haiinam, T. O’Donnell, J. Stokes, J. UotiiwcU, <J. ivay, \\ . W illiams, anti the acting-secretary, T. P. Ryan.
Mr \\ . Bruce was appointed secretary to the Union fur tne ensuing year
Mr Eggelton asked for a ruling on Rule 23. which stated that each senior club must pay a tee ol L’l/i/-, ami each junior club 10/6. He asked 0 Cobden Club, which was nominating
one senior and two junior teams, wuuni !ia\e to pay only the fee o. £l/1/-. Personally, he considered that they should pay £2/2/-. this including Um foes for the juniors.—lt was ruled that Cobden, being a senior club, was expected to pay only the one lee ol £4 V-
.Mr I*'. Eggelton was apopinted timekeeper at the Oobden ground, and Mr J. Guy at the town ground. The Postponement Committee was elected as follows: Messrs J. Kyle, W. Pring and T. P. Ryan. Messrs Guy and Bruce were elected a committee to act with the Relerces Association representative, Mr Bicheno, in the appointment ol releives for matches. The Chairman moved that all lootballs ;dr all matches he supplied h.v the clubs. Considering the financial position of the Union, he thought it was the duty of tin* clubs to'help the Union. The motion was' seconded by Mr Ryan and carried. An amendment ‘moved h.v Mr Eggelton. that the Union supply one hall to each senior team, was lost. FIXTURES. The following are the Senior fixtures arranged:— .May 2—Excelsior v. Rivals at Cas.x Square, 3 p.m.; United v. Cobden at Cobden, 1.3!) p.m. (Air T. Aidntosli/; Blakotown v. fetal.s, Cobden, ;-j p.m. (Air H. AlcLaugnlm). May 9 Star v. Cobden; Rivals v. United; Blaketown v. Excelsior. Alay 16—Rvals v. Blaketown ; Excelsior v. Cubclon; United v. Star. Alay 23—Cobden v.' Rivals; Star v. Excelsior; United v. Blaketown. Alav 30—Rivals v. Star • United v. ExcelsioV; Cobden v. Blaketown. A letter was received from the Greymouth Trotting Club stating that the Union could have tin* use of the playing areas,at Victoria Park for the year for £l5O. The deputation, which met the Trotting Club members, reported | that the Club had absolutely refused i to give tile use of the grounds under I the price mentioned. In view of the . Union having secured another playing 1 ground the .offer was rejected
