He ordered them to disperse, y when amid an angry shout the whole \ gang set upon him, .died inm. threw him in the roadway and kicked him. An Inspector of i'oliie went to bus assistance and also received., a heavy blow on the jaw licit split his lip. Police rein.orcements soon arrived and chased the ruffians, caught eight anti placed them under arrest. Others who adopted a menacing attitude were driven away with batons. A huge crowd gathered and the situation was extremely grave.
