LOAN COUNCIL
INTEREST REDUCTION. (A iwtralian Press Association.) MELBOURNE, April 27. The reduction of bank interest rates is to be uniform throughout Australia. The raising of a tivelve million sterling loan for the balancing of budgets by June 1934, and the creation or an all party coniferece to share responsibility for tile economies, were important decisions arrived at by the Loan Council, which has directed Mr Theodore to confer with Sir Robert Gibson for the raising of a loan and has asked tho Commonwealth Bank to take up the interest reduction proposals with private and savings banks. For the balancing of budgets, and an all Party Conference, the first move was made to-day, when a Committee of Council begins to draw up the suggested programme for submission to another meeting of the Council in three week ’s/ time.
