RADIO PROGRAMME

Three magnificent operatic numbers, with orchestral accompaniment, will he presented by Signor Cesnroni at -A this evening—“i.omaiiee” Grom ir Trovntore”), the “Romance” (from “The Masked Ball”) and “Eigaro’s Song” (from “The Marriage of Kigaro”). Signor Cosaroni will also sing with male chorus, ‘The Chorus of Dervishes (from “The Ruin of Athens.” by Beethoven.) Some ballads, sung liv Mrs Aid rev, Miss Ailsa Dillon and Mrs Iv. McAllum. will complete an unusually fine and varied vocal pio-o-ramme. The Orelmsti ilia’s numbers will include Mendeslssonhn’s delightful overture “Kingal’s Cave.

The New Brighton Municipal Band, under conductor J. A. Nuttall, will he the instrumentalists for 31 A.’s programme. Marches, waltzes, foxtrots, and a selection. “Empire Band,” will he played. The vocal programme will he provided hv Mrs >L A. Edwards (soprano), Miss Margaret Richardson (contralto), Mi E. R. Pitman (tenor) and Mr H. histone (humorist.)

A concert to he given in the Dunedin Town Hall by the Royal Dunedin Male Choir, under Dr. V. E. Galway, will he broadcast by -11 A. Ihe programme to he presented will hi l exceptionally fi. Part songs and choruses will he a feature of the evening’s entertainment. These nunil ers will include “Oft in the Stilly Night” “Hymn to Music,” “Holii'iiiindon.” “Volga Boat Song,” the negro spiritual “Swing Bow, Sweet Chariot” and a number of sea chanties. Miss l‘ reda Rimes (soprano), Mr \Ym. Mills (tenor) and Mr K. C. Cooper Glass) will he tie soloists. ’C'ello items will he contributed by Miss 1 . Mollatt. Silent day at IYA.
