THREE LIVES LOST
AT WELLINGTON HEADS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 26. Three lives were lost to-day near the harbour entrance. They were:— George Williams, married, aged 29, "who leaves a wife and three children. Jack Petifer, married, aged 23. Bobby Parker, aged 14. They were drowned opposite Breaker Bay, near the entrance of the Harbour this afternoon. A fourth man in the boat, Francis McPherson, was rescued. The party were returning from a fishing excursion and were just outside the harbour when, despite strenuous efforts to prevent it, their 16 foot rowing boat drifted towards the reef, near which it struck some rocks, and avhs smashed and overturned. The accident itself was not seen by anyone, although another boat returned by the same route later, and dragged the survivor out of the water. The bodies have not beep recovered.
