STRANDED SHIP “ENTON”
CAN BE REFLOATED. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, April 26. Air Lambert, the diver, ha.s returned from Noumea, where he has recently been engaged on salvage operations on the stranded motership Enton. He says that fourteen thousand eases of ben* zinc and one hundred drums of lubricating oil have been recovered. The ship is resting on a flat rock- in a com pie of feet of water. She is practically undamaged, but if, will he impossible to refloat her until the high tides, about September, when she should come off with little assistance, provid-. lug she suffers no serious damage in the interval. She might have been towed off after the stranding with the aid of tugs, hut since then she has moved farther on the reef. Her engines are in perfect order, and were utilised during the salvaging operations. The vessel has been made thoroughly secure by means of stout hawsers.
