INDIAN MOSLEMS

A WAVE OF LOYALTY,

[United pr«as Association,— -Vj Electric Tel egrr pn, —Oo py right, ]

CALCUTTA, April 22

The Moplah Mussulmans of M a labar, who were concerned in the grave rebellion of 1921, are at present displaying intense opposition to Congress propaganda, and a wave of loyalty to the Crown is sweeping a large area which, a decade ago, was a hotbed of sedition. Congress agitators were prevented from holding meetings in the districts of Kittappara and Pattambi, where Moplah priests nre exhorting the villagers, who are all Moslems, that it is irreligious to co-operate with Congress, which is engaged in disloyal pursuits. Members of the Congress were told that the Moplahs had not forgotten the manner in which the Congress had deceived them during the rebellion.

Waving Union Jacks and shouting, “Let the British Administration continue.” the Moplahs, raising their war cry, drove the Congress agitators from the district.
