For 1 haL reason it is in keeping with the spirit of tlu* times to find a ready desire to help the Club in a practical way. Many helpful suggestions were forthcoming on Friday night, and all the proposals conjoined should be a lover to material success in the' end. The Club’s appeal for help will, therefore, not he in vain. Later, when the full support* of the voluntary aid is ascertained, the Club will consider borrowing proposals by way of debentures, and in this regard, also, there are several encouraging offers forthcoming. Altogether, tip. community has reason to ho grateful for the degree of ready help forthcoming in- the emergency of the late serious loss, li betoken* a pleasing civil spirit, if wo may say so, in keeping with the record of the district.
