MISSING MACHINE GUNS. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, April 18. The “Telegraph” states the question in th e Senate, re machine guns, has made public a fact which perturbed the army authorities for some time. It is definite that guns disappeared from military custody. Efforts were made in Melbourne to induce certain military trainees to secure parts of Lewis machine guns kept at Drill Halls. Parts also mysteriously disappeared in Sydney. Not long ago a prominent Communist was discovered in a Sydney regiment. He was questioned and is not in the regiment now. N.S.W. TRADE. SYDNEY, April. 18. Figures for the New South Males overseas trade for nine mouths ended March 31st show a favourable balance of £2.194,563 to the corresponding period last year. The States impoits exceeded the exports by £18.817,296. Imports for the nine months this v e ai totalled £21,688,499 and exports £23,883..062.
