“THE GAY NINETIES.” The cycle- of fashions has retwined ■to lace and plumes. As yet they i.haven’t been accepted, hut the pendulum; is swinging hack to the more feminine mood. Already the long gloves have been 'adopted/-, along with the long skirts and three-quarter length .sleeves. The hair is also being worn in chignons in place of in tlio boyish bob. The small waistline is also being glimpsed m some’!new'styles, as is the hustle and pepiutfr effect. At the Metro-Goklwin-jjMhyer Studios, too, the girls have been /wearing plumes in their hats and oarry'vng dace parasols. Where for “The CJay Nineties,” which, as Marion Davies’ fnewest, all-talking picture, will be shown to-night and Saturday at tDe Princess Tlieatre.
These styles worn by Miss Davies and her feminine supporting cast reveal lines that are startlingly near the modern vogue. Besides Miss Davies, the east includes Lawrence Gray, Walter Catlett, Uance O’Neill, Jed Prouty, Safti Hardy, ‘ Vivian Oakland, and others. Harry Beaumont directed.
