A complimentary social and public presentation was made at Kumara on .Monday evening to Dr Dorothy ,J. Booth. who is retiring 'from her position as medical officer at Kumara. The .Mayor (Mr A. IL Spiers; presided over a very large ami representative attendance. Mr James Murphy (President ol the Kumara Medical Committee), then read a beautifully illuminated address which was the work of Mr J. A. Various speakers testified to the good work of the retiring Doctor and expressed good wishes for her future. The Mayor presented Doctor Booth with an address and parcel of gold from the citizens. Dr. Booth, in replying said she was too overwhelmed at tli<. great kindness shown, ’to express her feelings in words. it was kindness itself, and sli" would never forget if.
