DARING BURGLAR

ENTERED LIGHTED HOUSE. AUCKLAND, April 10. A -daring burglary was committed last night at a house in Westminster Street, Mount Eden, when a man ran. sacked three bedrooms while the occupants were playing cards with several guests in the drawing room. He stole a handbag containing Cli in notes and some silver. The whole bouse was brightly illuminated, the front door being left ajar. The intruder slipped quietly through and immediately set to work to search threw bedrooms for money. He had to pass the drawing room, the door of which was closed. The fact that the thief missed a sum of money in the front bedroom suggests that he was disturbed when he accidentally knocked a glass from a window sill.
