HON. LLOYD GEORGE
ENTERTAINED BY ZIONISTS. [Dm ted Press Association. —By Elec trig Telegraph.—Copyright.] (Received 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, April 12. Hon. Lloyd George, whose name lias been given to a Colony in Palestine in gratitude for bis services to Zionism was the guest of the Zionist l-edoratioii of Great Britain at Savoy. Referring to the Mandate he declared it must be carried out not nervously, and not apologetically, hut firmly anti fearlessly as a policy in which Britain generally believed the first duty of Government is to protect the lives and the properties of all citizens. Jews have special claim to Canaan as the only people who made a success of it in the past three thousand years. Since then Jews have become enriched through contact with every civilisation on earth. We are entitled to expect great things from the Palestine experiment, the progress of which since the Mandate was issued lias been incredible. The people who faced an age long persecution are not turning hack on account of a single, squalid, cowardly riot.
