IRISH SWEEP

ON ENGLISH DERBY. U.S.A. SEIZURE OF TICKETS. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] NEW YORK, April 12. A passenger aboard the Aquitania whose luggage was searched because of the discovery of liquor, was found to possess one million tickets for the Irish Free State’s hospital sweepstake on the Derby. The tickets, if all sold, would have totalled 8,500,000 dollars, of which 400,000 dollars would have been in the seller’s profit. The tickets were confiscated under a customs law forbidding entrance with lottery tokens.
