MEAT AND BUTTER
LOW PRICES INCREASE SALES. Advice from London is to the effect dint one result of the low prices ruling in that market for New Zealand meat and butter has been to largely increase the sales of both lines. This may have a beneficial effect in the fiuure by introducing New Zealand produce to avenues whore it was not previously known. Nearly all the New Zealand meat exported this season went to England. Attempts were made to open a market in Italy by Auckland exports but trie price asked was above what the Italians were prepared to pay. There has not been any actual loss on shipments of frozen meat to London this season, as, although prices were low, they have been sufficient to cover cost ot killing and marketing. Very large shipments of chilled beef reached London from tlie Argentine this season.
