WEDDING BELLS
WILLIAMS—MORICE. AYELLINGTON, April 9. An interesting wedding took ’dace at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, AWllingtoil, this afternoon, when Louise 1 Seddon, second daughter of Dr and Mrs Charles G. Moriee, “Moelcerney,” liccleston Hill, AVellington, ami granddaughter of the Rt. Hon. R. J. Soddon, and of Airs Soddon. df AA’ellington, was married to Thomas AYatkin, son of the late Mr T. AV. YY illiams, Wellington. The ceremony was performed by Canon AV. S. Bean (Christchurch), uncle of the bride, who was assisted by Archdeacon Johnson. The church was decorated with masses of red and white flowers, and Mr Hubert Parker was organist. The bride, who was escorted by nor father, wore a beautiful frock of mag-nolia-UTifvd satin, the long-sleeved bodice bring buttoned at the hack, and finished with a high-waisted swathe holt. The. skirt was long amt flared in front, and from the waist at the back fell a cascade of deep friiis which formed tlie train. Her veil of Limerick lace was arranged off the face and held by circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of deep red roses. There were five bridesmaids, Misses Constahce Aiorico (chief), Helen Whyte, Helen Thompson, Mary Rochlort, and Jean Knox-Gilmer, who wore copies of the bride’s frock in mag-nolia-tinted satin. They wore diademshaped headdresses .of pearls the same colour as their frocks, and carried bouquets of deep rod roses, tied with red streamers. The best man was Air Alec AVhitcomhe (Dunedin), and .Messrs Brian Reid, Denis Blundell. C. Kmikel. and ■I. Bristed wer ( . ushers at the church. After the ceremony a reception was held at “.Moelcerney,” the residence of the bride’s parents, where over 300 guests were entertained. Tlie rooms were decorated with masses of beautiful hydrangeas, giant rod dahlias, amvrillis lilies, and roses, and over the bride’s table hung a floral wedding bed. Mrs Moriee, who received the guests, wore a smart frock of royal blue georgete and a coat of the same material, with collar and cuffs ot light grey if ox fur. Her hat was of felt and velvet of the same shade, and she carried a bouquet of blue and petuniashaded flowers. When the bride and bridegroom loft on their wedding trip the bride travelled in a light tweed ensemble, the coat being finished with a large collar of nigger brown flat fur and a smalt beret hat to match. Among the relatives of the bride and bridegroom who wore present were Airs YY'. S. Bean (Christchurch) and Alias M. Bean, Air and-Airs F. Dyer and AUss Lulu Dyer. Mrs Knox-Gil-iul‘ and AUss Knox-Gilmer. Airs Frame Tiny, Mr and All’s T. K. A’, Soddon. Mrs Rnehfort, Mrs Burnett, Airs Dinwiddie (Napier), and Mrs Basil AVhitcombe (Christchurch).
