PRELIMINARY ENQUIRY

WELLINGTON, April 7

A preliminary enquiry was held by the Superintendent of Mercantile Marine to-day into the cause of the mishap to the motor-liner Port Hobart through striking a submerged object off Taurakirae Head. The vessel has been given a certificate of seaworthiness, and leaves tomorrow for New Plymouth. She will then proceed to Port Chalmers for docking.
