OIL REPORT
(fill Telegraph—Ter Press Association) GISBORNE, April 9. Taranaki oil report.—Continued drilling difficulties at Waitaugi No. 1. Have decided the Directors to effect economy in time and money by moving the place, a short distance to the north and commencing a new well on the same structure. A considerable amount of preparatory work has already been doue on the new site, where the overburden of tertiary strata and uppermost shale beds oi cretaceous series which were the main cause of difficulties in No. 1, are non-existent-. It is anticipated that drilling conditions will prove quite satisfactory.
