MADEIRA REBELLION. CONDITIONS QUIET. (British Official Wireiess.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, April 8. The British cruiser “London” reached Madeira, to-day, having been sent to safeguard the. interests of British residents during the present disturbances in the Island.^ The “London” found conditions quiet and no anxiety need be felt for the .safety of the British community. BERENGARIA GROUNDED. NO DAMAGE SUSTAINED. RUGBY, April 8. The Cunard liner “Berengaria” which yesterday grounded on n mud bank neap ' the Isle of Wight, while going dead slow in a dense fog, was berthed at Southampton to-day. After careful examination inside and out it was found the great vessel suffered no damage. She will sail for Now York on Saturday as scheduled.
