WEDDING BELLS
'flit* wedding took place at St. Patricias Church, Grey mouth, on Monday aifternoon of Katherine, daughtei ol .Mrs and the late Mr M. O’Rourke, of Runanga, to Jack, eldest son of Miami the late Mrs J. McGee, Chapel Street. .Miss E. O’Rourke, sister of th<, bride, attended as bridesmaid, Mr J. Dewhurst was best man. and Rev. Father Mealy officiated. After the cerenionv a reception was held at Hoib .Moore's, where the guests were received by Mrs O’Rourke.
The wedding was celebrated at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Greymouth, on Monday morning'of Maud Elvira, youngest daughter ol Mr and Mis R. .). Williams, Puketahi Street, to Frederick William, second son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Trainer, of Dunedin. Miss L. Williams attended her sister as bridesmaid, and the duties of best man were carried out by Mr J• W. Coadwell. Mr F. Restieaux presided at the organ and Rev. G. E. Brown officiated After the ceremony the re_ ception was held at Marker’s and the newly-married pimple hit later lor Auckland and Rotorua on their honeymoon. The wedding took place on Monday in the Church of Resurrection, Cobden. of Nellie, second daughter of Miami Mrs W. Calder, Fox Street, to Malcolm, soil of Mr and Mrs Creighton, 0 f Dunedin. Archdeacon J. A Jcrniyn officiated, and Miss Ron.i Smith presided at the organ. The serene was a fully choral one. Tbo bride was attended by .Miss Beryl Barrett, and Mr Oscar Calder acted as best man. while little Miss Dorothy Teasdale made a charming flower girl. After the ceremony a reception was held in York Mall, and Mr and Mrs Malcolm (freight-oil left later tor Otira and the East Coast, where their honey moon will lie spent.
The wedding was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, oil -Vonday, of Pearl youngest daughter dl Miami Mrs Mopgood, Kilgour Road, to Andrew, eldest son of Mr and Mrs I Hughes. Karoro. Archdeacon J. A. Jcrniyn officiated. Miss Hughes, sister of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaid, and Mr Les Hughes, brother of the bridegroom was nest man. Little M.elva Osmcrs, neice of the bride, presented the bride with lucky horse shoe as the bridal couple left (he church. Later a reception was hoVd at, Herb. Moore’s, after which the newly-married couple left by the express on a tour ol the South Island. MACE A R 1 *AN E- SHERRI FF. On Easter Monday in the heautluUv decorated All Saints' Church. Hokitika, the fashionable wedding took place of Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mi's and the late Mr T. Sherriff. to John, third sou of Mr and Mrs Colin Mac arlane, t h e |{ev. H. J. W. Knight, officiating. The bride entered the church on the arm of her stepfather, Mr E. Sherriff and was charmingly attired in a gown of ivory cliarmeusc on a foundation of silk net. appliquid in silver, finished with a. diamond buckle at waist line. This charming toilet was completed with an exquisite veil of Homtjan lace- arranged in mop cap fashion with a circle of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of lilies. Master Thomas Sherriff made a pretty page '>« v ”> white satin.
In attendance were her two sisters, Misses Jessie and Phyllis Sherrill, the Former wearing a pretty frock ot delphinium blue taffeta and silk net with quaint bolero coatees, the lat'tci a similar frock in pastel shade of pink. They wore ea pa line felt hats and shoes t<> match. The bridegroom was supported hv Air Allan Stevenson as best man and Eldon Morris ably performed the duties of groomsman. At the reception in All Saints Mali (beautifully decorated by triends of the bride), Airs Sherrill' received her guests, wearing a delightful brown ensemble frock with hoquet to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore a graceful frock of russet brown with bouquet of autumn flowers. Amongst the many guests wore; Airs (1. S. Veale. aunt of the bride, wearing navy crepe do clime frock; Mrs A. Reitch. Christchurch, navy crepe satin ; Misses Rorimer (W'osf Kyle) cousins of the bride, lemon and n pph> green georgette; Mr and Mrs Janies Maefarlane junr.. Air and AMs A. .Maefarlane. Air James Alacfarlane senr., APrs Crimmond, Air and Airs Winchester. The usual toasts, interspersed with musical numbers bv Airs 1,. Rtopfortb. Air -T. Bannister. Air P. | Cla.rke and Air B. Stevens, nceompan- J ied by Airs Alorris, terminated a most j eninvable function. ,
