The recent Cawnpure rioting, which was far worse than first reported, has created a tense atmosphere between Hindus and Moslems. Gandhi declares his readiness to advise Hindus to concede practically do all Moslem demands for joint electorates in the new Constitution if the community become united. The European view favours separate electorates as the best guarantee of peace. ANOTHER SHOOTING. DELHI, April 7. James Peddie, Magistrate at MidNapore was wounded five times with revolver shots on visiting a MidNapore school. No arrests were made
