KUMARA RACES
POSTPONED TILL WEDNESDAY. Following -heavy rain yesterday morning at Kumara from 8 o’clock onwards, the Stewards of the Club decided at 11 o’clock to postpone the meeting until to-morrow (Wednesday). In..spite of the heavy rain that had fallen in Kumara district which was much heavier than it was in Hokitika and Greymouth, there was a fairly large attendance gathering per medium of motor cars when the decision was / announced, while there was a long string of horses on the ground. It was unfortunate for the Club to have- to come to this decision, especially as soon after the announcement was made the weather cleared rapidly and an hour after the sun was shining and the rest of the day was beautifully fine. The railway time table is the same for' to-morrow as on Monday. The first race is timed to staid at noon.
