Young ewes were selling freely, ami North Island ewes were in demand. The market was firm at late rates owing to the smaller yarding. Best ewes sold to 17s id, prune Ids to 14s (>d, medium 9s (id to 1.2* (id. lighter from (is. Best ewes sold to 7s-Gd to 8s 9d, light from os Till, interior from fis.
There was a medium yarding .of fat lambs, mostly l,ig plain sorts, with few choice consignments. The market had a dragging tendency. Rest prim® lambs sold to lbs 10d, medium Ids (id to 14s 9d, light from 11 s, inferior from 8s Gd. There was a small yarding of heel. The market opened with a sharp rise on last sale, but slipped hack to late rates at the closing stages. Extra heavy steers sold to Cl 7 17* (id, prime heavy £ls to £l7 15*, medium £lO Ids to £l2 15s, light from £6.
