Francis made furious efforts, but, was ineffectual against La Barba’s calm, skilful boxing, which was most impressive. RICHARDS OUTS THOMAS. SYDNEY, March 29. At the Stadium, Billy Richards 10.4 (Australia) knocked out jho Welshman, Billy Thomas (10. S) in the ninth round. The bout wats not attractive for the first five rounds. Then Richards adopted rushing taffies. Thomas was down three times in the eighth round. Both men gave a poor display.
