TEAR GAS BOMBS

Tear gas bombs were hurled into the auditorium at the Ambigu Theatre during a play, based on the Dreyfus Affair, members of the audience regarding the production as unpatriotic Many were ejected. One demonstrator was hoisted to the stage where he was spanked in the old fashioned way until rescued by police. Meantime the audience were so affected by the tear gas that all were obliged to leave. Five arrests were made.
