The Labour Movement realises that a majority of the New Zealand Unions are not in a. position to adopt that weapon, hut there are a number of unions in the key industries, who may adopt such tactics.” The foregoing statement was made to-day by Mr Arthur Cook, Pros’dent of the Alliance of Labour, who is at present visiting Invercargill. He said that the Labour Movement blamed the Unemployment Act and its administration for increasing the number of unemployed. Tt was full of loopholes, and any employer could take advantage of it. Referring to the subject of the wage reductions, he said that, heyord question, a boycott would be adopted. Organised Labour would remove i's support front all of the firms who followed the action of the Government and reduced wages.
