RIVAL FOOTBALL CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Rival Football Club took place in Keller’s Sample Rooms last evening, there* being a, large and enthusiastic at-
tendance of members. Mr A. H. Lawn was unanimously, elected Chairman. Jn thanking the members for his election, Mr Lawn congratulated the Club on the excellent. showing of the team in last years’ senior competition, when they were runners up to Uni teds, the champion: team. He hoped that the same enthusiasm -would he shown again this year with the result that the Club might be a rung higher on the championship ladder.
Before the election of officers took place a resolution of sympathy was passed to .Mr J. J. Mclntosh and family in their recent sad bereiiviment.

A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring secretary and treasurer Air AL Houston Jnr. for the good work done during his term of office. After the' election of officers a discussion arose regarding the inter competition with Greymouth. It was resolved after a lengthy talk on the matter that the delegates he instructed, to inform members at flip annual meeting of the Westland Sub Union that the Rival Club will be in favour of continuing the inter competition with Greymouth. A letter was received from ATr Ivznrd, proprietor of the Australasian Hotel, that he had erected a dressum room and six hot and cold showers at the hotel, and trusted that the team would avail themselves with the use | of same. Resolved fo forward n letter j of thanks to ATr l/.zard for his kind offer. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to ATr R.
