RUGBY, March 25. A communique issued by the British Embassy at Paris, stated that the British and French Foreign Ministers considered the situation created by the proposed Austro-G-orman Union. Mr Henderson informed i\l. Briand that lie had drawn the attention of the Austrian and German Governments to tile anxiety manifested in many quarters as to the conformity of the proposed treaty with existing obligations. He had expressed the hope that, before they proceeded further in the negotiations of the Union, opportunity lie, given to the Council itself at the May meeting that the proposals were not contrary to the engagements given by Austria in that instrument. BELGIAN ALARM. LONDON, March 24. The “Times’s” Brussels correspondent states The Belgian Senate has been asked to approve of arrangements concerning the administration of the Belgo-German frontier. M. Hymans referred to the unexpected motion passed by the German Reichstag demanding the rq-incorporation mf Btipon and Malmedy in Germany. He declared this Was more shocking to Belgium opinion as it Followed Belgium’s reaffirmatSsn of its intention to pursue a policy of understanding and peace. Belgium had indisputable rights over Eupen and Malmedy which the allies had undertaken to maintain. '\ ho Government would not accept any discussion in the Belgium frontier or territory.
