The remnants of the once large colony of earthquake refugees, are leaving for the Napier express to-day for Ilawkes Bay. Less than one hundred remained last night and the relief camp was closed this morning after seven weeks. It is estimated that the total cost n, relief at Palmerston North camps is under Co,ooo. due largely to extensive supplies of food donateed by farmers and others. Over eight thousand refugees have been dealt with at this centre.
