SALE OF LIQUOR. REDUCTION OF HOURS SOUGHT (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) INVERCARGILL. March 24. The Presbytery of Southland to-day passed a resolution urging the Government to pass a short amendment to the Licensing Act to reduce the- hours oT sale of intoxicating .liquors to four daily, two hours before noon and two after noon, thus seeking greatly to reduce the economic waste occasioned by the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Sear and A Thurlow; selectors. Messrs A. Colwin. J. Tiplady and H. Casey; vice-president to New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr A. Goodwin; delegates to N.Z.R.U.. Messrs AV Craddock and Mark Nicholls; auditor, Mr AV. Hobbs. Tt was resolved that in case of a vote on the question, the delegates to the Buller Rugby Union lie instructed to vote fur the rules in operation before the English tour. It was decided that the season open with competition games on Saturday. \pril 1.1, all nominations and classifications lists to be iu the. hands of the secretary hv March 30.
