The Presbytery of Southland to-day passed a resolution urging the Government to pass a short amendment to the Licensing Act to reduce the- hours oT sale of intoxicating .liquors to four daily, two hours before noon and two after noon, thus seeking greatly to reduce the economic waste occasioned by the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
