OPIUM SMOKING
CHINESE HEAVILY FINED, WELLINGTON, March 23. Ah Wong, following on a rnid on his plaoe In Hainlng Street, was fined £IOO for using the premises for the purpose of smoking opium. Default was fixed at three months’ imprisonment. He was also fined £SO, in default two months’ imprisonment, for being in possession of prepared opium.
