A hill to empower the Government to require the Commonwealth Bank Board to hand over tty; present gold reserve if it is necessary to discharge urgent indebtedness overseas, was introduced by the Federal Treasury today. Mr Theodore, in the House of Representatives Bill, will also remove any obligation to pay gold for Australian notes. AUSTRALIAN STOCKS WEAKER. LONDON, March 24. Australian stocks have weakened all round. Dealings are recorded at a range of from one to four pounds decline, compared with 1913. SALARY REDUCTION. SYDNEY, March 25. As an alternative to his proposed salary taxation, the Federal public service unions informed Mi' Scullin that they were prepared to recommend members to accept, as from Ist April, the annual cost of living variation. This will involve a reduction of about 7s weekly to be operative from Ist July.
