Count Felix Von Luckner has announced his plans for taking a schooner yacht, the “Mopelia,” to New Zealand next winter. His reason, he says, is “Because I love that country.” Count Von Luckner during his inprisonment in war time on an island i n Auckland district, made his famous escape in the scow “Moa”, using petrol which he had manufactured on the island out of the rations of raspberry jam served to the internees.
