LORRY DRIVERS, DECISION ON MEAL TIME. (By Teleijraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 18. In a decision to-day the Arbitration Court holds that the time occupied by the driver of a petrol lorry in having a meal is part of his working timeThere is no custom, the Court says, to support the application of the rule governing horse drivers to the drivers of petrol waggons; and, further, that the regulations under the Dangerous Goods Act place specific duties and responsibility on the drivers of petrol wagons during their hours of duty.
THEFT FROM SHOP. WELLINGTON Marcri 18. A rug sold to a second-hand dealer in Manners Street led to the arrest of Norman Graham .McKenzie 20, on a cargo of breaking and entering the ■Manners Street shop one night in December, of Vance Vivian, and stealing goods of. the value of £9B 2s all of which is believed to have been recovered.
