Forbes has issued a statement in regard to his visit to the arrangement of the quarantine station at home for pedigree stock exported from Britain. He was assured by the highest veterinary opinion that the precautions are such a<s to make the position of the import of animals into New Zealand absolutely safe, while we have, says Mr Forbes, in addition the quarantine facilities in New Zealand. He had satisfied himself from his own observations, and concludes that New Zealand can with safety open her ports and let in stock to improve the flocks. This refers to foot and mouth disease and pletiriphenumonia.
