INDUSTRIAL ACTION
DECISION OF ALLIANCE CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph^—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 17. The official, report of the recent Conference convened by the Alliance of Labour deals, among other matters, With' the decisions taken in respect to the proposed wage reductions. The report states' that the opinion of the Conference was- that further reductions in wages;wouldmake it impossible for the. working people and their dependants to exist!,, The conference decided, unanimously,' : to oppose wages cuts, and a Central ■ Committee was appoint, ed to /advise, and instruct the Trade : Unionists throughout the Dominion on the action to he'taken. This Central* ; Committee will, be composed of representatives of . Trade Unionists in each centre,, who will, act in conjunction with the National Council of the New Zealand Alliance of Labour. “The Committee has been instructed ltd commence: organising a campaign amongst the employed and unemployed workers throughout the Dominion, with the view , of preparing for widespread and effective industrial action in the event of wage reduction being enforced,” says- the report.
