TUESDAY, MARCH 17th

This being St. Patrick’s Day, there will be appropriate broadcasts from IYA, 2YA and 4YA.

lYA’s concert will be devoted to music and humour of the Emerald Isle.

An Irish concert to be given in the Wellington Town Hall will be broadcast by 2YA.

4YA will be carrying out a relay from Gore—a three-act comedy drama, “My Irish Rose,’’ to be produced by a strong cast under the direction of Airs Molly O’Sullivan, F.T.C.L. Silent day at 3YA. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18th. A combination new to listeners will be heard from IYA this evening. It will be the Auckland Tramways Male Choir, consisting of about thirty voices trained by Mr Duncan Black, the well known The choir will sing several male part-songs and should delight IYA listeners with their splendid concerted work. There' will be solos by Mr Duncan Black. The Monte Carlo Orchestra, under the direction of Mr F. K. Cunningham, will contribute to the programme and a “Topical Talk” will he given by Mr A. B. Chappell, M.A. 2YA will be broadcasting the next instalment of the overseas recorded programmes. At 9 o’clock, Dr Guy H. Scholefield', 0.8. E., will give a talk on “Matters of International Interest.” Tlie evening’s entertainment will also include a session of international dance music from electrical recordings

3YA’ts miscellaneous programme will be contributed by a variety of entertainers—Mr Lyndon Christie (saxophonist, with piano accompaniment by Miss Olive Winston), Mrs E. Nelson Kerr (contralto), Mr H. Blakely (lenor), The Mascots {.sketch artists) and the Studio Octet. It will lie a very popular programme. The glory of Russian composers wilt l>e brought back to listeners-in to 4YA this evening by the items to b e played bv the Studio Trio. Needles* to sav, Tsehaikowsk.v is represented on this programme and amongst the others are such brilliant men as Sibelius, Arenpky and Barmotiu. The majority of items to be played will be the. lighter works by thes e composers.
